Privacy policy

Our full privacy policy is being prepared with legal advisers. Until it’s published, this page explains exactly what this website collects today and why.

Awaiting approved legal text. This page is a placeholder that outlines what the final document will cover. It isn’t a binding policy or agreement, and it will be replaced before any product launches or any personal information is collected.

What we collect today

Evolve Capital Credit is pre-launch. We don’t offer any products, and we don’t take applications. Here is everything this website collects, and when.

Browsing the website

Browsing doesn’t require you to give us any personal information. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.

Google Analytics, only if you allow it

If you choose “Allow analytics”, we use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used, for example which pages are visited and how visitors arrive. It sets cookies in your browser, and Google processes the data, including outside Canada. We don’t use it for advertising, and advertising features are turned off. If you choose “No thanks” or make no choice, Google Analytics doesn’t load. You can change your choice at any time with “Privacy choices” at the bottom of any page. Your choice itself is saved in your browser’s local storage.

Signing in with Google

If you sign in, Google shares your name, email address and Google account ID with us. During pre-launch we don’t keep an account database: these details are stored only in an encrypted cookie in your browser, which expires after 8 hours, or after an hour without activity, and is removed when you sign out. Signing in isn’t an application and doesn’t involve a credit check.

Identity verification (invited testers only)

We’re testing identity verification with Didit, a specialist provider. It’s open only to people we’ve invited, and only after they give consent on the verification page. Didit collects images of your government-issued ID, a selfie and the details on your ID to confirm your identity. Didit stores this information on our behalf, which may happen outside Canada. Our authorized staff can view it in Didit’s secure console. Our website only reads the verification result, and our records refer to you by a random-looking code rather than your name or email. You can ask us to delete a test verification at any time.

Email

If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply. Please don’t send identification documents, banking details or your Social Insurance Number by email.

What the full privacy policy will cover

Before we take applications, we’ll publish a full policy in plain language that explains:

  • who is responsible for your information, and how to reach our privacy officer;
  • what personal information we collect for applications, identity verification, payments and credit monitoring, and why;
  • how we ask for consent, including separate consent before accessing your credit information;
  • which service providers we share information with, and where they process it, including outside Canada;
  • how long we keep information and how it’s securely destroyed;
  • the safeguards we use to protect it;
  • how to access or correct your information, or withdraw consent;
  • how we handle electronic messages under Canada’s anti-spam legislation, and how to unsubscribe;
  • how to make a privacy complaint, including to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as applicable.
